Wheat Variety-Specific Response to Seeding Rate Under Intensive Management Conditions in Western Kansas in 2019–2020

چکیده

Wheat response to seeding rate is variable and depends on resource availability during the growing season (e.g., fertility, moisture, temperature). Our objective was evaluate winter wheat population grain yield responses its interaction with variety in a highly-managed production system where manageable stresses were limited. One experiment evaluating of varieties Joe, WB-Grainfield, Langin, LCS Revere rates ranging from 200,000 1,000,000 seeds per acre established field managed by growers that consistently win state national contests near Leoti, KS. The trials September 25, 2019, after long fallow. extremely dry, only 6.3 inches cumulative precipitation (corresponding 15% atmospheric water demand). Stand count increased increases but final closer target under low populations. Varieties differed statistically all responded similarly rate. lowest recorded across treatment seeds/a, treatments 400,000 seeds/a resulting same level. WB-Grainfield underperformed other varieties, likely due more damage spring freeze occurring April 2020. These results suggest not dependent variety, optimum as seeds/a. We note increasing past this point led numerical, statistical, yield.

Grain Filling Rate and Duration in Bread Wheat Under Irrigated and Drought Stressed Conditions

Abstract Eleven wheat cultivars were evaluated at 10-day intervals, beginning from anthesis, under irrigated and drought stress conditions during 2006-2007. The effects of irrigation, genotype and date of harvest were significant for most of the studied characters. Water deficit decreased pre-and post-anthesis assimilation rate, grain weight per spike, grain number per spike and 1000 grain wei...

Response of wheat crop during transition to organic system under Mediterranean conditions

Organic agriculture is an ecological production management system aimed at sustainableproduction of safe food, environmental protection and maintenance of soil health. The objectiveof this study was to evaluate, in a period of organic transition, the effects of different organicfertilizers on wheat yield, grain quality and soil characteristics. The research was performedin an experimental farm ...

response growth and yield to plant density and row space under rainfed conditions in wheat

in order to evaluation of plant densities and row spacing effects on growth and yield of wheat, an experiment was conducted by using four plant densities (125, 250, 375 and 500 plants per m2),two row spacing (12.5 and 25 cm), in a randomized complete block design with three replicates in anbare-ololum reign in rainfed and saline conditions during 2008-2009. results showed that leaf area index (...

Physiological Response of Quinoa to Nitrogen Application under Salinity Conditions

Salinity stress is one of the major abiotic stresses which injures plants by limited water absorption and nutrient imbalance and limits crop growth. In order to study the effect of nitrogen fertilizer on physiological traits of quinoa at high salt concentrations, a greenhouse experiment was conducted in a factorial arrangement based on a randomized complete block with three replications in 2019...
